PRP Hair Restoration - Pre-care Instructions:

o Avoid NSAID use 1 week prior to procedure (Alleve, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Advil). Please discontinue blood thinning agents such as vitamin A, Ginkgo, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, and multivitamins, a minimum of 7 days (preferably 14 days) prior to treatment
o You may take Tylenol as needed prior to the treatment
o Avoid colouring hair 2 weeks prior to procedure.
o Please prepare for the procedure by eating a full meal at least 2-3 hours beforehand
o Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure 5-7 days prior to treatment
o Minimize or avoid alcohol 3 days prior to treatment
To ensure that you are adequately hydrated prior to your treatment please remember to drink
o 8-10oz glasses of water the day before your treatment session.
o The procedure typically takes 45 - 60 minutes

PRP Hair Restoration- The Morning of Your Treatment:

o Shower the morning of your treatment and wash your hair very thoroughly using your regular shampoo. Post-care Instructions:

o Avoid NSAID use 1 week after the treatment.
o We would prefer that you avoid applying ice to the injected area, as ice acts as an anti-inflammatory
o Do not touch, press, rub or manipulate the treated area(s) for at least 8 hours after your treatment
o Use regular Tylenol following the procedure if needed for pain associated with procedure
o Avoid coloring hair 2 weeks after treatment
o Do not wet your hair for at least 3 hours after your treatment
o For the first 3 days, use shampoo that is pH balanced.
o Do not use any hair products for at least 6 hours after your treatment
o Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming for 2 days after your treatment
o Avoid vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for at least 2 days after your treatment
o Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and smoking for 3 days after treatment
o Smokers do not heal well and problems re-occur earlier and results may take longer o Continue to increase water intake the first week after treatment o Please do not hesitate to call our office should you have any questions or concerns regarding your PRP treatment or aftercare
o We follow-up with you, 3 days & 7days after your procedure (depending on your choice of contact)
o To truly maximize your results, it is recommended to incorporate supplements with your hair restoration process

What to expect after treatments:

o Lingering soreness of scalp x 24-48hrs
o Slowing of hair shedding and gradual hair growth and over next 3-6 months
o New hair growth typically noticed after the 3rd or 4th treatment, with maximum effect occurring 3-9 months following 3rd treatment.
o Treatment effects, with potential for continued improvement, persist 6-12 months after last treatment
o While we cannot guarantee regrowth of new hair, rate of hair loss drastically declines, while receiving treatments and for an average of 6-12 months following the last procedure

Potential Risks

o It is normal to experience bruising, redness, itching, swelling and/or soreness that may last 2-5 days following your treatment. If you experience any pain or discomfort you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen- containing products as directed.
o Allergic response or anaphylaxis to anesthetics
o Nerve damage from injections
o Risk of infection at injection site

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR TODAYS FILLER TREATMENT Hyaluronic Acid Pre -Treatment

Instructions Your injectable treatment is coming up and we have some important pre-treatment instructions for you. Please review the following.
o Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising). This is particularly important for dermal filler injections.
o Please ensure you do not have a dental appointment or vaccine within 2 weeks before or after your dermal filler appointment.
o Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks or at least 4-5 days before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections. This is particularly important for dermal filler injections.
o Schedule your Dermal Filler and Botox appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Results from the Botox injections will take approximately 4 to 7 days to appear. Dermal filler injections may cause some bruising and swelling that can take several days to resolve.
o Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area.
o If you have a history of cold sores, please let your provider know, they may put you on an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
o Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of light-headedness during your treatment.
o You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Cancellation and no-show policy

A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the provider’s day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. However we do understand life happens, please call us to let us know if you are unable to make your appointment and we can reschedule it for you!


Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. No shows will be charged 50% of the projected cost of the scheduled service upon next appointment.
